Kinja'd!!!

Your channel is blowing up, ad revenue is rolling in and you are consistently bringing in $1,500 a month in supplemental income on top of the job you already have! Like every other Youtuber, you need to purchase/mod a car (or cars) in order to generate additional interest in your channel. What car(s) would you buy with $1,500-$2,000 a month in disposable income?

That’s $18,000 - $24,000 annually (or a 40 hour weekly salary of $8.65 - $11.54 an hour). Youtube is what we used to call back in my day a second job .

Feel free to take this opportunity to talk about Youtube cars and trends as well. Also, is it better to do Youtube or just get a second job?

This has been on my mind. I’ve been trying to find my niche. I need multiple streams of income to sustain and create my dreams.

You’re not far off, as much as he denies it.

Also, he bought his most recent Huracan from a Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler dealership...

I think channels that start off with supercars are definitely like that, but there are several that switch up once the revenue becomes predictable and go in on a nice car that the viewers will enjoy...viewing and content. Kind of buying a car in order to progress the business and thereby making it an investment instead of just an asset.

A Daihatsu Midget II. Lower it, some fender flares, wider wheels & sticky tires, rip out the engine from under the seat & in its place put in a K20 out of a RSX S-Type infront the rear axle.

I’d buy the cheapest shitty FWD beater I could find, then use the rest of the income to convert it into a RWD drift machine while retaining as much of the stock exterior/FWD look as I could. Just drop a fuckin’ SBC from a truck into a 90s Taurus or a LeSabre or something with truck transmission and rear end, vortec heads, for the ultimate budget RWD conversion with all sorts of solid mounts for everything, then enter it in all sorts of ridiculous competitions. Autocross, drift competitions, track days, drag races, etc. while continually upgrading the suspension, engine, rear gears, etc.

Just do what the last hundred generations of people have done and get married! As long as you don’t have kids, both work, and don’t divorce you’ll generate far more income than you would on your own.

I don’t know what he answer is but I would assume that the best pick would be one that has a large online community and forum following and something with low running costs.

I love me a Jaaag! Many of the stock wheels for that generation look aftermarket, especially on the R.

Pick up one of these bad boys:

Kinja'd!!!

The $1,500 - $2,000 per month is to make it run reliably. I hope it’s enough.

It’s the bloody bolts on the edge of the wheels. I see them on Audis all the time and it’s always catching me out. It looks so damn cheap too, urgh.

Just start making videos :)

Getting a second job is hard because there’s so much competition even for the cheapest low-paying jobs, it’s actually easier to just make your own videos and hope you make money on them.

Keyword spamming and listing hot topics in your videos helps, too. And of course, cute cats are YT gold!

I didn’t realize just how much one could make doing youtube videos until I started watching VanossGaming. Evan has never flaunted his money, which I think is nice, but one of the others in that group showed off his brand new M4 and I know another has a newer Vette. As far as I know, none of them actually have what we would call ‘real’ jobs because they all make enough doing youtube. I don’t see anything wrong with it, though. If you have the chance to live the dream, then do it.

Probably an old 911 Turbo so I would end myself and rid the world of another Youtuber.

If I can watch a channel grow from say an “average” car like a WRX, Evo or Toyobaru to get something like a used Ferrari or used Gallardo, then I totally appreciate that. They worked their way up through the car world. BUt if they start off saying “Well just got this new LAmborghini. Thought I would make a bookshelf video.” Those people I can’t stand.

I have been doing YouTube for a long time, 3+ years. Some people get that insta popularity. For me it has been the best hobby in the world. While I would love for it to turn into what you describe, I am about a factor 20 away from achieving that goal...

But since you bring it up, something old, something late 60's early 70's. Daily driver, and by daily I mean 85 mile round trip to work. Naturally also the car I take to car shows, and the car that would be the channel mascot. TheDutchTexan flag on the roof, social media links on the quarter windows. Yup, would be nice.

Dreams... They seem unobtainable. But I used to say that about 100 subscribers and 1,000 subscribers. I am sitting at 3,200 now and still growing. I might never hit that lofty “goal”, but I am having a blast just walking towards it. Who knows, perhaps I will become “That Dude In Blue” level one day. And if not? Still the best damn hobby in the world. Bar none. I hope to meet many more car enthusiasts, and review many more cars. It really is a joy being around like-minded people.

Eh, closest thing Roadkill has done to that is Stubby Bob or the hellcat General Mayhem. Most of their stuff is “we have this piece of shit we bought for five dollars and are going to toss some $4000 engine we had “lying around” into it and then blow it up. Again.”

Avantime would be my obvious answer, but since they’re probably cheap enough to buy on a single job...

This would be my answer. YouTube funds for the apex seals or something.
